Review library proposals
Go through the goals and targets your BCBAs propose for the clinic's library, adjust them, and approve them or not.
Your BCBAs can propose goals and targets for the clinic's own library, written from scratch or taken from a learner's plan. Nothing reaches the library until you decide. You review each proposal, can correct its wording and settings, and approve it, which adds it to the library, or not approve it.
Before you start
- You work in the web app, on a plan that includes the clinic's own library: it is not part of the Free plan.
- Only BCBAs propose. You add content to the library directly: see Manage the organization library.
- The number next to Library > Proposals in the top menu is how many proposals wait for you. It refreshes every 30 seconds or so.
See the pending proposals
Select Library > Proposals. The table lists every pending proposal, oldest first, with its Name, Type (Goal or Target), Target Type, Submitted By and Submitted date. With nothing to decide, the page says No pending proposals.
Review and approve a proposal
- Select Review on the proposal's row. Review Proposal opens with who submitted it, when, and its type.
- Check and correct what you need:
- the Name and the Description;
- for a target, the Goal Name it goes under and, except for generic targets, its Mastery Criteria, with Count different days on if the BCBA counted days;
- for a goal, Parent can practice this goal and the Parent Instructions.
- Select Approve.
The message Proposal approved — new org library item created appears and the proposal leaves the table. Cancel closes the window and leaves the proposal pending.
Approve stays greyed out for a rate target until its target rate is filled in.
If the approval fails, the window stays open and the page behind it shows the reason, in English, with Retry. The most common reason is a goal name your library already has: change the Name and approve again.
Do not approve a proposal
Select Not Approve, on the row or in the review window. There is no confirmation and no way to undo it: the proposal leaves the table at once and the message Proposal not approved appears. You cannot give a reason in ABACare, so tell the BCBA yourself if they need one.
What happens next
- An approved goal is in the library at once, under the subdomain the BCBA chose, with its name and description. Whether parents can practice it, and the parent instructions, are not carried over.
- An approved target goes under the clinic goal whose name matches the Goal Name, whatever the capitals. If there is none, ABACare creates that goal, with no description, in the subdomain the BCBA chose.
- The BCBA is not notified. They see Approved or Not Approved under My Proposals. A proposal that was not approved cannot be edited or sent again; the BCBA sends a new one.
- The learner's plan a proposal came from does not change.
- If your clinic's access is suspended for an unpaid invoice, Proposals opens Billing instead: see Pay an invoice and restore access.
