Review my child's sessions and notes

Each therapy appointment is a session in ABACare. You can see your child's upcoming and past sessions and open any of them: when it took place, who worked with your child, the goals worked on, the rewards your child earned and, when there is one, a summary written for you. You see sessions in the web app only; the mobile app does not show them. Nothing you do here changes a session.

Before you start

• The summary is a note your child's BCBA or the clinic writes for you and publishes. They decide which sessions get one, so many sessions have none. You never see the data therapists record, their scores or the clinic's internal notes. See Publish session notes for parents.

Browse the sessions

1. Select Sessions in the menu.
2. With more than one child, pick a child in the selector at the top (Filter by child), or All Children. The x in the selector goes back to all your children.
3. Upcoming lists the sessions still to come, soonest first. Past Sessions lists the others, newest first, with pages when there are more than ten. A session moves to Past Sessions as soon as its scheduled start has passed, even while it is still In Progress.
4. Each card shows the date, the time and the length in minutes, a status, your child's name and, when a therapist is assigned, Therapist: with their first name. When the session has a summary, the card shows its first lines under Summary:.

The status tells you where a session is:

• Scheduled: planned.
• In Progress: happening now.
• In Review: the session is over and the BCBA is checking it. The session's own page calls this Submitted.
• Completed: the BCBA has approved the session.
• Cancelled: the session did not take place, including when it was missed. A cancelled session is listed under Past Sessions even when its date is still to come.

The Dashboard also shows the next three sessions under Upcoming Sessions and the last three under Recent Sessions. View All Sessions opens this page.

Open a session

1. Select View Details on a session.
2. The top of the page shows the date, the time, the length, the status and Therapist: with their first name.
3. Session Summary shows the note written for you, with Last updated and its date. Without a note, it shows No summary available yet.
4. Goals Worked On lists the goals planned for the session, each with how many targets it had. Select a goal to see its targets, the specific skills your child practiced, each with its status today, not at the time of the session.
5. Rewards Used This Session shows each kind of reward your child earned, with how many times.
6. Select Back to return to your sessions.

If the page cannot load, it shows Failed to load session details and Retry. If it still fails, the session may have been removed: ask your clinic.

Emails about notes

When a note is published or changed, every parent linked to your child gets an email in English with the whole note and a button that opens the session. The email's button opens the ABACare website when you are signed out: sign in, then open Sessions to find the session.

Good to know

• A note can appear while the session is still In Review, and the clinic can change it later.
• The length shown is the planned length of the session, not how long it actually lasted.
• Only the therapist's first name is shown.
